The Ducati Multistrada V2 is the accessible entry point into Ducati’s adventure touring range, built to make the Multistrada name’s blend of capability and comfort available without stepping up to the larger V4 models. It is aimed at riders who want genuine adventure styling and touring practicality for everyday commuting as much as longer trips away.
Its 890cc 90 degree V2, with a 96mm by 61.5mm bore and stroke and 13.1:1 compression ratio, sharing its architecture with other models across the range, uses variable intake valve timing to deliver a broad, usable spread of power, producing around 115.6hp at 10,750rpm and 92.1Nm of torque at 8,250rpm. Drive goes through a six speed gearbox fitted with Ducati Quick Shift up and down, giving smooth, confident, clutchless progress, via a chain final drive on a 15 tooth front and 45 tooth rear sprocket, while a slipper clutch with self servo action keeps the lever light through town and controls engine braking into corners. Full ride-by-wire fuel injection and a stainless steel exhaust with catalytic converter and lambda probes keep the delivery clean and responsive.
A monocoque aluminium frame with a 1,572.5mm wheelbase carries a 45mm Marzocchi upside down fork and a Kayaba monoshock adjustable for preload and rebound, tuned for comfort over distance rather than outright aggression. Twin 320mm front discs with radial Brembo M4.32 four piston callipers and a 265mm rear disc provide confident braking, while 19 inch front and 17 inch rear Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres suit both tarmac and light unmade roads. At 199kg with 207mm of ground clearance, it copes comfortably with poor surfaces without feeling unwieldy, and an adjustable seat height helps riders of different builds find a comfortable reach to the ground.
A 19 litre tank supports genuine range between fuel stops, rounding off a machine built to cover real miles in real comfort. It suits riders who want adventure styling and touring capability without the size, weight or cost of the flagship V4 machines.
