GT MOTORCYCLES

HISTORY & CULTURE

A Humble Beginning With Big Dreams

Founded by Mike Grainger and Pete Tribell, GT Motorcycles began as a small venture with a big vision. From its original location on Albert Road, opposite Plymouth’s historic dockyard, the dealership quickly became the go-to spot for local riders. Imagine the buzz of the late 70s, with riders gathering at GT to swap stories and admire the latest machines.

Expanding The GT Legacy

By the late 1990s, Mike Grainger took the helm solo, steering GT Motorcycles to new heights. With an ambitious vision, he expanded the GT brand across the South West, opening additional showrooms in St Austell, Yeovil, and Torbay.

A Modern Home For Riders

In 2007, GT Motorcycles relocated its Plymouth operations to a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility in Plymstock. This modern showroom was designed with riders in mind, offering a spacious, welcoming environment to explore the latest motorcycles and gear.
