The Ducati Diavel V4 is a power cruiser that pairs a low, muscular stance with genuinely explosive sportsbike performance, the model that redefined what a cruiser could be when Ducati first launched the Diavel and now carries that idea forward with a V4 heart. It looks every inch the show bike, yet underneath sits engineering shared with Ducati’s touring flagship.
That engine is the 1,158cc V4 Granturismo, a 90 degree unit with an 83mm by 53.5mm bore and stroke, 14.0:1 compression and a counter-rotating crankshaft borrowed from the Multistrada, tuned here for a huge 168hp at 10,750rpm and 126Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Drive runs through a six speed gearbox fitted with Ducati Quick Shift up and down, via a hydraulically controlled slipper clutch with self servo action and a chain final drive on a 16 tooth front and 43 tooth rear sprocket, delivering effortless, clutchless progress whether rolling through town at low revs or opening the throttle on an empty road, where the V4’s mid range shove is genuinely startling for a bike with cruiser proportions.
An aluminium monocoque frame carries a 50mm fully adjustable upside down fork and a fully adjustable monoshock working through a single sided swingarm, a set up that keeps the long, low Diavel composed over its 1,593mm wheelbase despite an imposing 240 section rear tyre. Radially mounted Brembo Stylema callipers, backed by Cornering ABS, provide the stopping power to match the performance, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso III rubber front and rear grips confidently for a bike of its size and 223kg kerb weight.
Riding modes, traction and wheelie control, and cruise control keep that performance manageable and accessible, all managed through a five inch TFT display running the Ducati Multimedia System. Full LED lighting with dynamic indicators rounds off a genuinely striking design, and a 20 litre tank supports proper distance between fuel stops. It suits riders who want cruiser presence and low slung style without sacrificing outright pace or modern electronics.
