The Yamaha XMAX 300 Tech MAX Plus tops the big-bore XMAX line, pairing the standard bike’s genuine performance with a full technology package and the premium finish that comes with Yamaha’s Tech MAX trim. It is built for riders who have already decided on the 300 and want the very best equipped version Yamaha offers.
The core hardware is shared with the standard XMAX 300, a 292cc liquid-cooled single with a 70.0mm by 75.9mm bore and stroke, a 10.9:1 compression ratio and an SOHC four-valve head, producing 20.6kW at 7,250rpm and 29Nm of torque at 5,750rpm through fuel injection and a V-belt automatic transmission, fed from a 13.2 litre tank. That is enough for genuinely strong, confident acceleration whether pulling away from lights or overtaking on a fast dual carriageway, all without a clutch lever or gear pedal to think about, and consumption of around 3.0 litres per 100km keeps it reasonably efficient despite the pace on offer.
A tubular steel underbone chassis with telescopic front forks and a unit swing rear carries over too, riding on 120/70-15 front and 140/70-14 rear tyres with 135mm of ground clearance across the same 1,540mm wheelbase as the standard XMAX 300, and matched here to a 267mm front disc and 245mm rear disc with traction control and ABS for balanced, controlled braking in all conditions. At a 795mm seat height, it asks a little more of shorter riders than the base bike but rewards them with a chassis that feels planted and secure at speed.
Where the Tech MAX Plus earns its place at the top of the range is in its specification. A wide dual-screen dash combining a full colour TFT with a secondary LCD supports smartphone-linked navigation, calls and music, while an Emergency Stop Signal adds a further layer of visibility and safety under hard braking. It suits experienced scooter riders who want the maximum comfort, connectivity and performance available from a 300cc commuter, with nothing missing from the standard equipment list. Finance and test rides are available now through GT Motorcycles, your Yamaha dealer in Plymouth, for riders throughout Devon and Cornwall.
